2048 is the rare kind of puzzle game that feels like a math test wrapped in a cozy blanket of dopamine. Gabriele Cirulli’s deceptively simple, wildly addictive single-player sliding tile puzzle game has you swipe your way across a 4x4 grid, trying to get two tiles with the same number to merge into one, ideally until you hit that golden number: 2048.
Every move spawns a new tile, either 2 or 4, and each match adds to your score. But the real magic happens when strategy takes over. You’ll start playing just to reach 1024. Before long, you're scheming in corners, plotting tile mergers like a mastermind just to reach 2048… and then you keep going.
It’s a minimalist masterpiece: smooth animations, no ads (in the classic version), and dangerously easy to keep saying “one more move.” 2048 might look like a number puzzle, but it plays like Tetris for tacticians.
Forget Flappy Bird, this is the game that really broke our productivity.
