Flappy Bird

Flappy Bird was created by Vietnamese game developer Dong Nguyen and dropped into the app store charts like a pixelated meteor in May 2013, but it wasn’t until January 2014 that this deceptively casual mobile game became a full-blown phenomenon. Its addictive nature lies in its simple mechanics: tap the screen to flap, fly through the gap in the pipes, repeat. Miss a beat, and you’ll crash face-first into frustration.
You don’t play Flappy Bird so much as you react to it, like a jazz solo with a rhythm that never forgives. The goal? Navigate pipes without dying and pray your twitchy thumbs can beat your last high score. That’s it. No in-game lore, no new features, just pure, concentrated arcade brutality.
Though the developer pulled it in February 2014 due to its addictive pull, you can still play Flappy Bird for free in your browser. Whether it’s parody, clone, or original, the legacy lives on. Just don’t forget to breathe… or tap.
